A clear booking policy helps protect your time and income by outlining expectations for things like late cancellations and no-shows. With Bookem, you can create a policy that is displayed to clients during the booking process and when signing intake forms
Note: Bookem displays your booking policy to clients but cannot enforce it automatically. You’ll need to manage any consequences yourself.
1. Go to Settings > General preferences
2. Scroll down and toggle 'Booking policy' to on
3. Add your booking policy and save
Your policy will be shown to clients during the online booking process. Clients must click to confirm that they acknowledge the policy before completing a booking.
Online bookings: Displayed on your online booking page
Intake forms: Clients will be asked to sign to confirm they understand and agree to your policy when completing forms
You can customise your forms to include a version of the booking policy that’s tailored for this purpose.
Make sure your policy is clear and specific so clients understand the consequences of not showing up or cancelling late. Here are the key parts to cover:
Define what counts as a late cancellation
Example: Less than 2 hours before your appointment
Define what a no-show means for your business
Example: Did not attend and gave no prior notice, or cancelled within 1 hour of the booking start time
Set up an automated message for when bookings are marked as no shows to let your clients know what consequences they might be facing for not complying to your booking policy
Go to Settings > General preferences
Scroll down to Disable client booking cancellations and toggle this ON or OFF, depending on your policy
Turning this on gives clients the ability to cancel via the online booking link.
