General preferences let you control how your online booking page and client experience behave. You can fine-tune everything from booking policies to form layout
Here’s a breakdown of what you can customise in Settings > General preferences
Allow online bookings - toggle this on to accept client bookings through your online booking page
Minimum and maximum lead times – control how far in advance clients can book or how close to the appointment time they’re allowed to book
Booking policy – display your booking and cancellation terms clearly to clients
Allow or disable client cancellations – choose whether clients can cancel their bookings themselves
Look busy (Fog of war) – hide real - time availability to make your calendar appear busier than it is
Facebook Pixel ID – add your Facebook Pixel ID to track booking activity and measure the performance of your marketing campaigns
Default status for bookings made by team members – choose whether manually created bookings are automatically confirmed, pencilled in, or awaiting payment
Unconfirmed booking reservation duration – set how long pencilled-in or unpaid bookings are held before they expire and the time becomes available again
Send plain text emails – disable Bookem’s standard HTML emails and send simpler plain text messages instead
Disable quirky video call waiting messages – switch off the fun, informal messages clients see while waiting to join a video call
Set the number of columns when printing forms – choose a 1, 2 or 3 - column layout for printed client forms
