Stay informed with notifications about bookings and client messages in Bookem. You can choose how and when you receive alerts, and customise your settings to suit your workflow.
Notifications are sent when someone else (a client or team member) creates or updates a booking in your calendar. You won’t receive a notification if you make the booking or change yourself.
If you’ve set up booking reminders, those will still be sent regardless of who made the booking.
You can receive notifications in different ways:
In-app – look for the notification bell at the top right of your screen
SMS – sent to your registered mobile number
Email – sent to your registered email address
Team members can receive notifications when:
Booking confirmed – made by a client online (if enabled), or by another team member
Booking cancelled – cancelled by a client (if online cancellations are enabled), or another team member
Booking start time changed – changed by another team member
Booking requested – when a client requests a booking online (if enabled)
Pencilled in – created by another team member
Awaiting payment – applies to bookings made online when online payments are enabled
Set reminders to alert team members about upcoming appointments, sent at a chosen time before the appointment starts.
Other important notifications
Message received – when a client replies to a message (like an SMS reminder), the reply will trigger a notification to the team via email or SMS. These messages also appear in the Messages tab and the client’s profile
Form submitted – notifies the team member when a client completes and submits an online form
Bad email address – alerts team members if a client’s email address is invalid. This is sent to anyone who has message notifications turned on
To update your notification preferences:
Go to Settings > Team members
Select your name or the relevant team member
Click on the Notifications tab at the top
Tick the options to customise your preferences
Click Save
Why are we not getting notifications when a team member makes a booking?
Read our help article on Booking Preferences for more detail on some of these settings.
