Controlling global invoice column visibility for clients

You can control what information appears on invoices that are shared with clients. Adjusting the visibility settings for line-item columns allows you to keep internal information visible to your team, while ensuring clients only see the details relevant to them.

Common examples:

  • Team Member / Associated Resources for internal tracking
  • Type/Category if for internal tracking
  • ICD-10 codes if not appropriate for certain cases

Here’s how to adjust invoice column visibility

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Payments & Invoicing > Line items
  2. Select 'Edit columns' in the top right corner of the page
  3. Find and open the invoice column you want to manage
  4. Tick 'Hide from client' if you do not want this column to appear on client invoices
  5. Click Save
    This column will remain visible internally when creating or editing invoices, but it will not appear on invoices sent to clients.

Note:

  • Custom line item columns marked as hidden will always remain visible internally, but will be hidden on the client's invoice.
  • System default line item columns ( Description, Qty, Unit price, and Amount) will always be visible and cannot be hidden:
