Set bookings to only be available on the hour or at custom intervals

If you want more control over when people can book your services - such as only allowing bookings to start on the hour, every 30 minutes, or at any other set frequency - you can adjust the time slot intervals for each service.

This is useful if you want to avoid back-to-back appointments, manage room turnover, or align bookings with your team’s schedule.

How to customise time slot availability for a service

To restrict when bookings can be made:

  • Go to Settings > Services

  • Select the service you want to update

  • Scroll Service locations and click on +Show more

Choose how often bookings can be made:

The Available every setting lets you control how often a service can be booked:

  • Service duration The service can be booked any time there’s a gap in your calendar that’s long enough For example, a 30-minute service could be booked at 9:10, 9:40, 10:20, etc

  • Custom duration (Every X minutes or hours) Choose a fixed interval like every 1 Hour, or every 30 minutes. Bookings will only appear at those regular times - e.g. 9:00, 10:00, 11:00

This setting applies only to that specific service and location, so you can use different booking rules across your services and locations.

How availability start times affect booking intervals

When you set a custom interval (e.g., every 1 hour), the booking slots will align with the start time of your availability for that day. For example:

  • If your availability starts at 08:30, and you set a 1-hour interval, bookings will be available at 08:30, 09:30, 10:30, and so on

  • If your availability starts at 09:00, bookings will be at 09:00, 10:00, 11:00, etc

This means that the intervals are calculated from your availability start time, not necessarily on the hour, unless your availability starts on the hour.

How calendar blocks affect booking intervals

If there is an existing event or block in your calendar during your availability, the booking intervals will adjust accordingly. For example:

  • If your availability starts at 08:00, but you have a calendar block from 08:15 to 08:45, the first available booking slot will be at 08:45

  • Subsequent booking slots will continue at the defined interval from the adjusted start time. So, with a 1-hour interval, the next slots would be at 09:45, 10:45, etc

This ensures that bookings do not overlap with existing events or blocks in your calendar.
