How to block time in your calendar without changing availability settings

Bookem gives you full control over your availability so clients can only book when you're truly free. If you have a non-client event - like a staff meeting, personal appointment, or taking an afternoon off - you can block out time to prevent bookings. You can do this manually or have your external calendars sync automatically to reflect your availability.

Manually block time in your calendar

Use this option to block time for non-appointment related events - anything that isn’t a client booking but still means you're unavailable. This might include:

  • A team or staff meeting

  • Personal appointments

  • Admin time or an afternoon off

Here’s how to block time manually:

  1. Go to your Calendar in Bookem

  2. Click on the time slot you want to block

  3. A pop-up will appear - click Block time

  4. Confirm the start time and end time

  5. Choose a location, or click All to block time across all locations

  6. Add a brief description

  7. Click Block

Once saved, this time will appear as unavailable and clients won’t be able to book you during that period.

Automatically block time from external calendars

If you already have events in your personal or work calendar - like time blocked out for errands, travel, or other non-client commitments - you can sync those calendars to Bookem. These events will automatically show as unavailable, with no manual work needed.
