Split billing lets you divide one invoice between the client's medical aid and the client. You claim part of the amount from the medical aid, and the client pays the rest. This article shows you how to split an invoice when you create a medical aid claim.
When to use split billing
Use split billing when the medical aid won't cover the full invoice. For example:
Your fee is higher than the amount the client's medical aid plan pays.
The client's plan only covers part of the treatment.
You've agreed with the client that they'll pay a portion themselves.
Split an invoice between the medical aid and the client
You split the amount when you create the claim, before you submit it.
Follow these steps:
Open the client's invoice and complete the header fields and line items
Finalise the invoice
Click Create claim
Go to the totals section and click to show split billing
You can change the claim amount to the portion you want to claim from the medical aid
Next, check and adjust the amount left for the client
Click Submit
The medical aid receives a claim for its portion only. The client's portion stays on the invoice as the amount they owe.
