Customised headers can only be used in Documents. We recommend using the headers provided in your business template when signing up for Bookem. However, if your business needs a different layout or branding, you can also create your own custom headers using Document Templates.
Note: You can design a full document template that acts as a custom header and insert it into documents, or create a header specific to each document template type.
Follow these steps:
1. Go to Documents > Templates
2. Click '+ New Template', and select 'Blank template' to create a new document template
3. You can now create and customise a document header using fields, columns, horizontal rules, images (e.g., business logos), and variables for a single or reusable template
Create and name a new blank document template
Click + Insert >Columns layout
Choose the equal width, which will divide the page evenly
Add a 'Horizontal rule' to separate the header from the rest of the document
In the left column, insert the client details, using text and variables (e.g. #first name, #last name)
In the right column, insert the business information (e.g. #business name, #location email)
Add your logo by selecting Insert > Image
Click 'Save & close"
You can now reuse this custom header in other templates or insert it directly into documents.
Follow these steps:
1. Go to Documents > Templates
2. Click '+ New Template', and select 'Blank template' to create a new document template
3. From the floating menu, select Template, or from the formatting menu, go to + Insert >Template
4. From the list of document templates, select the one with your custom header
That's it, your custom header is now included in the new template.
⚠️ Note: Default PDF headers can only be toggled on or off in documents, not in templates.
